NUN was set up for the relief of distress; the advancement of education; the promotion of health and the reduction of drug related harm.
NUN is working to reduce drug-related harm, through challenging social exclusion stigma and discrimination
to the individual the family and the wider community in the UK.
Taking into consideration human rights and using themost appropriate method; education, representation and campaigning.
Objectives of the group
To empower drug users to give their views priority in all areas of concern.
To make sure that the ideas and opinions of the group are progressed through action.
To share information, ideas and initiatives on policy issues, service developments and best practice with a view to informing and co-ordinating activity in this sphere.
To promote and encourage the ethos of self-help and support.
To collate and gather information to disseminate to others.
To raise public awareness and promote drugs awareness, and education on safe drug use & around areas of concern.
To act as advocates on behalf of the group & others.
To actively promote all aspects of Harm Reduction & Human Rights that affect our community.
To address stigma & discrimination wherever it exists
